3 INGREDIENT RAW VEGAN CHOCOLATE BARK

May 16, 2017

Only 3 ingredients, no special skills, tools, or moulds, minimal time and effort and get a delicious raw chocolate that can be used for so many different things. Topped on banana nice-cream, made in to healthy rocky road (chuck in some cherries and nuts), drizzled melted to set hard on cakes and bikkies, made in moulds, or set in simple bark like form as above . Best part (apart from the fact they are refined sugar free, vegan, paleo, and delicious!) is these raw chocolates can be stored at room temperature without melting (unlike those made with coconut oil – which are also amazing though).

Simple chocolate bliss. Makes 12+ big chunks

Ingredients:

¼ cup coconut sugar

1 Tbsp water

½ cup raw cacao butter drops

½ cup cacao powder

Pinch sea salt

How to:

  1. First add the coconut sugar and water to a dish over hot water to melt together (this helps the coconut mix with the cacao butter).
  2. Then add cacao butter drops and using a whisk or fork, stir over heat until melted.
  3. Add the cacao powder and salt and stir till all is well combined.
  4. Pour in to a dish lined with baking paper  (I used a 9″x9″ glass dish and the chocolate was about 0.8cm thick – adjust yours to be thinner or thicker) and place in the fridge to set for 15-20 minutes before cutting.

Store at room temperature or keep in the fridge or freezer for long term storage.
