FullSizeRender[3]Despite the picture this is not a cake or cookie mix, but rather is a delicious smelling body scrub that helps to reduce cellulite in those stubborn places (think booty and thighs). Whilst making body scrubs at home is fun and good for the wallet,  it is also a very simple way to ensure you are nourishing your body not just internally, but externally as well.

Your skin is your body’s biggest organ so it only makes sense that you treat it well and are as picky about what you slater all over it as you are about what you place inside of it.

Have you ever had a look at the back of your favourite body products and thought what all those complicated to pronounce chemicals are, and more importantly what on earth they are doing to your body.

Here’s a quick little fun fact: Did you know that those cute little “beads” that you find in most exfoliating products are actually derived from the same materials that they make bean bags out of. Why!!?? Nature has provided us with some pretty sweet options when it comes to exfoliating so why not just use those?!

Now I know you may be thinking, seriously woman, does it really matter what you put on your skin? The quickest example is this: you know how when smokers try to give up cigarettes and go ahead and slap a big fat nicotine patch on their arm and somehow it magically works its way in to the blood stream… or how those magical pain relieving creams get rubbed on to the skin and are absorbed in to the body to treat the pain??? Yes, you guessed it, what you put on to your body is absorbed in to your body.

So, today I have a super sweet and simple recipe for you that ensures nothing but goodness (try to use organic ingredients where possible) is going on (and hence in) your body. Plus, the bonus is the caffeine from the coffee (make sure you don’t use a decaf version) has been shown to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. How much better is this? It’s cheap and it’s good for your body – no nasty parabens, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, SLSs (Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates), petroleum/petrolatum or other nasty chemicals.

Super Sweet Cellulite Busting Coffee Scrub

Ingredients (all in even portions):

1/3 cup sugar or sea salt flakes

1/3 cup of organic coffee

1/3 cup of olive oil

How to:

Mix all in a bowl to combine in to a paste. This won’t be too runny which is what you want.

Store in a glass jar in the bathroom and scrub in to your skin using circular motions for at least one minute a few times a week (warning you will smell amazing!).

An added bonus of tis is that your body is left super smooth and moisturised after doing this.
